The Nazareth Project, Inc., the only representative in the United States of Nazareth Hospital and School of Nursing, makes possible the administration of U.S. AID/ASHA funds to these unique institutions.
CURRENT GRANT: NPI is administering funds in the amount of $1.35 million for the construction of a sixth floor above the hospital building's 1995 wing for an OR suite.

USAID/ASHA Grant Amount: $1,050,000
Purpose of Grant: To equip two floors of a new hospital wing as part of a multi-year development plan, and to provide a new telephone system.
Benefits to the Hospital: This grant provided for an increase in the patient capacity of the hospital and by providing computers and a new telephone system made the hospital infrastructure more efficient.
Amount of additional (non-ASHA) resources committed by the hospital: $4,000,000.
USAID/ASHA Grant Amount: $400,000
Purpose of Grant: Procurement of architectural and engineering services and commodities necessary to convert the old wing of the Nazareth Hospital into the technical services center of the hospital, including a laboratory facility, an operating theater, and intensive care and emergency facilities designed to improve the surgical, laboratory, and emergency services of the hospital.
Benefits to the Hospital: Improved quality of care for emergency patients, improved access for ambulatory emergencies, and proper alignment of the hospital with Israeli Ministry of Health standards.
Amount of Additional (non-ASHA) Resources Committed to this project: $900,000.
