About Us
In
a land revered by the three monotheistic world religions, the Nazareth
Hospital has endured since 1861 as a genuine demonstration of Christians,
Muslims, and Jews working together.
Unique
to the region, Nazareth Hospital and School of Nursing are Israel's only
Arab-administered institutions of their kind, serving Israel's Arab
minority as well as Russian Jewish immigrants from nearby Nazareth
Illit. The hospital provides Nazareth's only 24-hour emergency services.
The
Nazareth Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Lancaster,
PA, depends on gifts from individuals, churches, and charitable organizations in
order to continue its vital role as U.S. friend and major fundraising arm for
these unique Christian institutions. To date we have raised over two and
one half million dollars to support medical services and nursing education
in the Galilee.
Through The Nazareth Project, Inc., people of the United States partner with people of Israel/Palestine, helping to bring healthcare and nursing education to the region’s underserved and marginalized people.
Our Mission
Our Mission is to support ministries of healing and reconciliation in the Holy Land through health care services. The Nazareth Project, Inc. operates from the core conviction that all people are created in the image of God, and are therefore to be treated with dignity and compassion. We do this by supporting Nazareth Hospital and Nursing School, Nazareth Israel, and St. Luke's Hospital, Nablus, West Bank, both of which do not discriminate according to ethnicity, religion, or ability to pay.
Our Vision is to raise awareness among the people of the United States of the everyday struggles of Israelis and Palestinians, offering them the opportunity to support Nazareth Hospital, Nazareth School of Nursing, and St. Luke's Hospital, strengthening these vital ministries of healing, justice, and reconciliation.
Our Program The Nazareth Project provides these institutions with financial support through grants, church sponsorship, and individual giving. We increase awareness of our mission through a series of educational programs and a quarterly newsletter.
We continue to:
Encourage intercessory prayer on behalf of the people of the Holy Land.
Facilitate acquisition of funds, equipment, and supplies for Nazareth Hospital and School of Nursing.
Recruit and identify candidates for service as volunteers (both medical and non-medical) at Nazareth Hospital.
Forward donations designated for Saint Luke's Hospital, Nablus.
